An interesting Russian decision towards Lebanon

Former MP Amal Abu Zeid, adviser to the President of the Republic for Russian Affairs, said: “The meeting that took place yesterday in the Russian capital with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov was good and is part of a series of multiple meetings held every year to deliberate. ” “With Mr. Baghdanov, in all environments surrounding the region in general, including Lebanon, as the Middle East region is witnessing many developments, and Russia is a major player and has an active role in the region. and the world”.

Regarding internal affairs, Abu Zeid indicated in an exclusive interview with “Sputnik”, that “Russia hopes that there will be a government quickly in Lebanon, based on the Lebanese peculiarities, and from the details of the political reality that the parliament embodies. current, and Russia also supports the French initiative. ” Despite the complexities it faces, and rejects the idea of ​​isolating any of the main political parties, and considers it a mistake, and it is necessary to agree between all officials and with the main political parties to form a single government with which everyone is satisfied, and that it starts from a clear economic policy in the interest of all Lebanese.

Abu Zeid pointed out that what is striking is that “Mr. Baghdanov indicated during the meeting that there was a decision by the Russian Supreme Command with an official directive to some active companies to go to Lebanon and invest in it, and one of these companies is interested in participating in the reconstruction of the port of Beirut, which will visit Lebanon. Soon, to present its project in this field, if the Lebanese state is seriously talking about heading east, Russia has the desire and is ready to cooperate in this field if there is consensus and agreement on this involvement of the Lebanese state.

Abu Zayd believes that “this Russian preparation is something very important, and indicates a strategic position in Russian politics to support Lebanon, which is why it continues to be a stage of understanding and cooperation between the Lebanese and a platform for the entire Arab interior” .
