An eight-year-old boy named Milan Kumar wrote his own book on the Corona epidemic, after the Duchess of Cornwall praised him for taking part in the Reading Marathon and reading 50 books during the closing period.
And Kumar published his book, titled “Let’s Learn About Christmas in the Shadow of Covid,” about a boy who conveys festive joys during the epidemic.
Proceeds from sales of the book will go to the National Literacy Trust, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised its fundraising efforts.
“It’s a great honor,” Milan said, adding that she was inspired by the book idea after being able to read 50 books in three months during the first closing period.
A message from the wife of British Crown Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, congratulated him on the “remarkable achievement”, and the Prime Minister presented him with the “Points of Light” award, which is given to distinguished volunteers who are marking a difference in their communities.
“I am proud to have made a positive change in the lives of other children affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, because reading stimulates public health and safety,” said Milan, who has managed to raise 3,000 pounds so far.
“I love reading and learning about the world through books, and I want to help as many children as possible discover the magic of reading and the benefits they can get from it,” he added.
