The United States of America has crossed the barrier of 101.1 million doses in the national vaccination process against the Corona virus, according to official figures released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Figures reveal that 35 million Americans have been vaccinated, or 10.5 percent of the nation’s population, and 66 million people, or nearly 20 percent of the total population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, that is, almost a third of the population. Americans reporting age 65 or older.
From the first dose on December 14 to now, the United States of America has become the most vaccinated country in the world, according to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
The United States is likely to reach a new number of vaccines by the end of next week, and the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has set a goal of 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days in office, a goal that will soon be achieved ahead of schedule.
The rate of vaccination across the country has accelerated to a rate of more than two million doses per day.
Biden confirmed that the United States will have enough Covid-19 vaccines for its adult population by the end of May.
And the president of the United States announced on Wednesday that his administration will purchase an additional 100 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine against the Coronavirus, in a measure that will double the number of doses that the United States will receive of this vaccine.
On Monday, the United States recorded, for the first time in more than three months, a daily death toll from Covid-19 of less than 1,000, according to data released by Johns Hopkins University.
And on Monday, US health authorities announced that people who received full anti-coronavirus doses can gather in small groups and indoors without wearing masks and without adhering to social distancing rules.
People are completely immune to the Corona virus, two weeks after receiving the second dose of one of the “Pfizer” or “Moderna” vaccines, or two weeks after receiving a single dose similar to “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine.
