After the first meeting held two days ago with a notable presence of 52 deputies, the Finance and Budget Committee headed by Representative Ibrahim Kanaan will meet in a second session, at 2 pm today, Wednesday, to continue listening to the Finance and Economy Ministers on the government’s financial and economic plan.
After the questions, clarifications and observations presented by the Finance Committee in the first session, the investigation will be completed today and new questions will be raised, at a time when the Finance and Economy Ministers are supposed to have clarifications attached to the documents , in response to what was raised by the deputies in the first session held in the hall of the General Assembly of Parliament.
The primary objective of the Finance Committee continues to be to protect deposits and spread the burdens between the state and the Bank of Lebanon and banks, and to reevaluate so-called “unrealized” losses.
