Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accused the Minsk group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which is the mediator in the conflict over the Karabakh region, of its lack of impartiality and of working to “save” to Armenia.
In a speech to the people on Monday, Aliyev said: “What is the activity of this group in Minsk? Can you or do you want to pressure the occupier? No. I have raised this issue more than once: if you want to solve the problem, it is necessary impose sanctions on Armenia. The matter is in your hands. ” You are permanent members of the UN Security Council, you can solve the urgent problem. “
And he continued: “I tell the supporters of Armenia that if they want to save him, tell him to withdraw from our lands. In his words, they will withdraw.”
The Azerbaijani president added that “those who want a ceasefire send arms to Armenia” and that he has a list with the names of those countries.
He said: “As soon as we started to liberate our lands from occupation, we began to come under pressure from all parties. Why has the Minsk group failed to solve the problem for 28 years? Travel, meetings and negotiations: we are tired of these negotiations with the enemy. “
Aliyev added: “Today all capacities are mobilized against us. I endured the matter for a month, a whole month! I did not talk about it, but we were really tired. This is first. Second, the mediator must be neutral, and if not, then he must withdraw his candidacy … on the mediating countries. ” To create a new job for himself, “noting that Azerbaijan managed to liberate much of its land by itself without the help of mediators.
It should be noted that the Minsk Group, led by Russia, the United States and France, has been mediating the Karabakh peace talks since the 1994 ceasefire between the two sides.

Aliyev indicated that Yerevan did not present a timetable for the withdrawal from Karabakh, and that this is unacceptable for Baku, adding that he does not oppose the scheduled meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers in Geneva on October 29, but hopes that it makes sense and brings the solution to the crisis closer, highlighting Azerbaijan’s readiness to go. “Until the end” in the case of Karabakh.
Aliyev said his armed forces managed to control 17 new villages in the conflict zone, blaming Armenia for violating the humanitarian truce, which took effect on Monday morning.
For its part, Yerevan affirmed its commitment to the truce, saying that it was violated by Azerbaijani forces when shelling areas in Karabakh.
