Idir grew up surrounded by tribal songs and melodies

Algerian singer Hamid Sharet, known as “Eder”, died in France at the age of 70.

The hero of the tireless tribal and barbarian civilizations died of lung disease.

Idir became internationally known in the 1970s through his famous Judaization “Avava Innova” and returned to the art scene in 1993.

In a greeting to the singer, Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun described him as “the icon of Algerian art” and said that “Algeria has lost one of its effects.”

A post on his Facebook page announced his death.

“We regret to announce the death of our father (everyone’s father), Idir, on the second Saturday from May to May at 9:30 pm. Rest in peace, Baba,” the brochure said.

Idir grew up surrounded by the songs and rhythms of tribal peoples even though he was studying to become a geologist until he appeared by chance on state radio in 1973.

He stepped into the last minute from another singer link and his performance was widely praised.

However, his recording career had to wait until his military service ended.
