Al-Mustaqbal confirms Hariri’s specifications to form a government

The Political Bureau of the “Future Movement” held, tonight, Wednesday, a virtual meeting through the ZOOM application, in which the general evolution and organizational situation were discussed, and concluded by issuing the following statement:

First: In the political situation:
The Political Bureau discussed the evolution of the political situation and the obstacles that still hinder the formation of the government and the launch of the required economic, reform and coexistence workshop.
The Political Bureau renewed its confidence in the role of Prime Minister Saad Hariri in this regard and in the constitutional standards to which he adheres in the formation of government. Implementation and beginning of the reconstruction of Beirut and removal of the effects of the catastrophe that affected the residents of the capital as a result of the explosion of the port, in addition to the urgent tasks aimed at stopping the economic collapse and living conditions.

Second: in the organizational situation:

Given the continuity and exacerbation of the spread of the Corona pandemic crisis and the need to adhere to prevention and social distancing measures for an indefinite period of time, and therefore the impossibility of resuming attendance meetings in the stream, especially meetings requiring intense assistance from all regions and coordinators,
Given the impossibility of holding general conference by default due to the large number of members regularly invited to the conference
In view of the exceptional and binding health risks derived from the Corona pandemic outbreak, which constitutes a legal basis that must be adopted in current practice and the application of the current internal system, which requires taking the appropriate measures to continue working in the stream,
And since the movement was forced to postpone the holding of general conference on 7/25/2020 after completing and completing all organizational and logistical arrangements in a timely manner,
Therefore, the political bureau decides to postpone the holding of the periodic general conference of the movement, which was scheduled for July 2020, based on the reasoned proposal of the head of the movement, with the aforementioned terms of reference based on the Article 34 – paragraph 3 – of the bylaws to another date to be determined later.
