Information sources told the Al-Jumhuriya newspaper that the priority is a government with new faces, since it does not include any of the previous ministerial figures in its ranks. Furthermore, participation in this government is mainly open to the various forces incubating the assignment.

The newspaper pointed out that although the environment of the consultations confirms that the objective is to ensure a homogeneous government work team, which is confirmed by everyone, including President-designate Mustafa Adeeb, but there are two main issues facing the process of formation of government: the first is related to the size of the forces that will be represented in the government, especially The Free Patriotic Movement, in particular, emphasizes an association equal to its representative and representative size, in addition to the part of the president.

The second refers to the distribution of ministerial portfolios. Here, the refusal of the Free Patriotic Movement to be surrounded by conditions, such as excluding it from certain ministerial portfolios, specifically from the Ministry of Energy, or conditions intended only to target the movement, is unacceptable. Rather, accept conditions that apply to everyone. From there came the invitation of its president, Gebran Bassil, to rotate in the ministries.

In this context, the newspaper continued, the insistence of President Nabih Berri also highlights the fact that keeping the Ministry of Finance mainly on Shiite participation in the government, and this insistence is not a political insistence, but an insistence of principle, because this topic was emphasized in Taif and was skipped in some stations. Before, the matter returned to its correct path in recent governments. However, some sources did not rule out that there would be some development regarding this matter, in relation to the announcement by President Berri that he would be very receptive, either in the formation of the government or in making Parliament a workshop in support of the government and fully prepared to approve the projects you request at the service of the promised reform workshop. .

Also, according to Al-Jumhuriya’s information, the consultations focus on a basic objective, which is to present a governmental formula that enjoys internal acceptance and is fully consistent with the requirements of the French initiative. Hence, three forms of government were put on the table for discussion: a broad government of thirty, an average government of 20 ministers, and a small government of 18 ministers. However, the prevailing trend, as suggested by the environment of the consultations, is towards an average government similar to the previous one, with an insistence on the inclusion of politicians. However, this matter has not yet been definitively resolved, pending direct consultations between the parties to the new incubator and the President-designate, who is expected to have a close meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri. Note that the line of communication is open between him and Representative Ali Hassan Khalil.
