Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Adib expressed his aspiration to form a government of specialists that can restore the trust of the people and regional and international partners. Adeeb highlighted in a speech he gave yesterday, after the end of the parliamentary consultations for the commission in “Ain Al-Tineh”, the need for the future government to deal quickly and professionally with the files in question and restore the confidence of the Lebanese and of the Arab and international community.
The Prime Minister-designate noted that during the consultations he had heard opinions and ideas that would prompt him to speed up the authorship process, and expressed his hope for fruitful cooperation with the House of Representatives.
The prime minister-designate stressed that the priority lies in civil peace and addressing the impending problems, the economic and health crisis, and the disaster of the Beirut port explosion, in addition to structural reforms, adding: “God willing , be optimistic for the good. ” He continued: “After consultations it became clear that common denominators are more than disagreement, and any point of disagreement can be resolved through dialogue.”
Yesterday, Adib began his consultations with parliamentary blocs to form a new government, a day after French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had extracted a commitment from political forces to complete the task in a record period of up to two weeks.
Adeeb initiated non-binding consultations at the residence of the President of Parliament, Nabih Berri, as a result of the damage to the House of Representatives due to the explosion of the port, and held meetings with former heads of government to continue meetings with the blocks and later with representatives independent. The consultations continued until yesterday afternoon, and are being held to request the appointed president for the positions of the deputies in his effort to form his government.
A few days ago, the Lebanese president had appointed Mustafa Adib to form the government, following parliamentary consultations in which Adib obtained 90 votes from the representatives.
