The irony is that the old European clubs finished late despite their overwhelming popularity, as Real Madrid came in fourth with 133.9 thousand votes only, Liverpool came in sixth place (75.8 thousand votes), Barcelona seventh (74.8 votes) and Manchester United 11th (29.7 votes).
