The Turkish authorities announced that the death toll from the Izmir earthquake has risen to 81, as search and rescue efforts continue.
And Turkey’s “Afad” of Emergency and Disaster Management, in a statement, noted that 743 “people completed treatment and left hospitals, out of 962 injured in the earthquake.”
AFAD stated that 219 “people are still being treated in hospitals.”
He stated that “the interested teams are continuing search and rescue work in 8 residential buildings that were demolished by the earthquake, which measured 6.6 on the Richter scale.”
The administration noted that “the authorities distributed more than 3,500 tents and 13,000 beds to provide temporary shelters for those affected.”
