Clouds of smoke covered the perimeter of the port of Beirut, from Saturday night until Sunday.
Twitter users expressed their fear on Twitter that a new fire would break out in the port of Beirut after clouds of smoke rose.
The rising clouds of smoke came two days after a fire broke out for the third time in the port of Beirut, last Thursday, when a fire broke out in a warehouse for tires and oils in the free market of the port of Beirut .
The Beirut port firefighting official, Lieutenant Michel Murr, told Al-Jadeed TV that “what happened in the port is not a new fire, but rather” ovens “of the Remnants of the previous fire that are cooling and fire trucks have not left the port for days.
The incident sparked controversy among Twitter tweeters, amid a wave of sarcasm and mockery over the repeated fires in the port since its first explosion on August 4, which killed about 200 people, injured more than 6,000 and displaced tens of thousands of people whose homes were damaged.
