After his disappearance for a time due to problems related to political funding, the South Korean police announced that they had found the body of a senior South Korean official killed in a building near the Seoul Central District Public Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday by the night.

The Seoul Prosecutor’s Office said a close aide to the head of the ruling Democratic Party was found dead while under investigation for alleged violations of the political finance law.

The deceased was investigated until 6:30 pm on Thursday at the Public Ministry, and was not subjected to further investigations after dinner. The 54-year-old official, who works in the secretariat of the ruling party chief, reportedly told his family that he was “sorry” before he disappeared.

Police assumed he had committed suicide and investigated the exact circumstances surrounding his death. Didn’t find a suicide note with him.

Last month, the Seoul government’s electoral commission filed a complaint against two people, including the deceased, with the prosecutor’s office on charges of violating the political finance law.

The two men were charged with receiving 115,000 won (US $ 105) per month between February and May from Trust All. The money was paid to rent a multifunction printer at the campaign office of the ruling Democratic Party chief Lee Nak Yeon, who won the parliamentary elections in April.
