After the Minister of Health in the interim government, Hamad Hassan, called for a complete closure for a period of two weeks to contain the Corona virus, and indicated that “imposing a commitment” on the shoulders of the security forces, the office Interior Minister Muhammad Fahmy’s media outlet issued a statement that “implicitly criticized” Hassan’s statement, stressing that the partnership “is not a game at hand to be subject to a week to close and another to reopen.”

The statement read: “A statement issued by the Ministry of Public Health is being deliberate and held accountable for the failure of the complete shutdown last month to the security forces and municipalities.”
He said: “It is important that the media office indicates that the security forces, as well as the governors, qaimqamas, municipalities and mayors, are fully fulfilling their functions to stop the pandemic through the data and information available in their hands. , which are often incomplete or at the wrong time. “
He added: “Regarding the call for a complete closure again, and despite the need to take stricter measures to stop the accelerated spread of the epidemic, the Media Office confirms that such a decision belongs to the Committee for the Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Procedures for the New Coronavirus, noting that the Lebanese community is not a “game” in hand that is subjected to a week to close and another to reopen.
Fahmy’s office wished that “the ministry in question had fulfilled its duties and the recommendations of the Interior Ministry since the outbreak of the epidemic in Lebanon would have provided the stripping of responsibilities, from right to left.”
