After approximately 12 hours of constant pain and itching in the ear, a man was shocked to learn that the cause of his suffering was a cockroach that had infiltrated his ear canal.
In the incident in Batangas province in the Philippines, Liu Orindin (39) intended to go to bed to rest after a long work, but woke up from sleep due to the severity of pain in his ear, according to the “Arab” website.
Despite feeling like something was scratching his ear from inside, Liu refused to go to the hospital for fear of contracting the new Corona virus infection, while his wife called her cousin for help.
When the relative arrived, he poured oil into Leo’s ear after suspecting that there was an insect inside, but nothing happened.
His cousin was forced to use forceps to extract a dead cockroach about 3 centimeters long, according to a video clip taken in September but not released until recently.
“I felt the pain from my ear to my brain. I felt like it was biting me inside,” Liu said, according to local media.
Liu’s ears showed blood marks and small cuts when the insect was removed, so he visited a doctor to check for injuries.
However, Dr. Doris Velasco said: “Leo was lucky. His eardrum was normal and we did not find any scratches. It was intact and the insect did not cause any damage.”
