The Free Patriotic Movement Physicians Authority announced that “its members of the Free Patriotic Movement, Dr. Marwan Al-Zoghbi, Dr. Wassim Bitar and Dr. George Rouhana, submitted a proposal to cover the cost of hospitalization resulting from the Coronavirus infection for union-affiliated physicians and retirees, by paying 100% insurance coverage differences in addition to insuring the cost of drugs and medical supplies used to treat Corona, provided this coverage is through the Fund of Help, and unfortunately this proposal does not receive the support of the rest of the Union Council.

The Medical Authority of the Free Patriotic Movement is surprised by how the members of the Union chosen by Lebanese doctors and entrusted with the interest of these doctors reject a draft proposal that would guarantee their protection against an unprecedented pandemic.

The authority also wonders about the existence of a subsidy fund if it is not used in these circumstances to help the crown sufferers from among dear colleagues, and raises the obvious question about the feasibility of having funds and savings in the Doctors’ Union. If not to help these people endure through difficult times, then are the honorable members of the Council waiting for tougher, harsher, and blacker circumstances than we go through to use the penny of the white doctors?

She said: “Support for Lebanese doctors facing the virus with raw flesh is done through clear practical steps, and not by theorizing to the media or throwing out trendy slogans without a realistic translation.”

The Medical Council of the Free Patriotic Movement puts all the members of the Union Council, with their diverse political, partisan or regional orientations, before their moral, national and union responsibilities, and calls them to transcend interests and give priority to interests. from the Lebanese doctor who deserves not only recognition for his great donations, but also real help and outreach through perseverance.
