An Iranian lawmaker warned on Sunday that the epidemic would return to a second wave, amid citizens’ inability to observe any protective measure after the government last week lifted the partial isolation measures it had previously imposed to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, which has killed thousands in the country.
Muhammad Javad Jamali Nobendjani, deputy head of the Iranian parliament’s Committee on Homeland Security and Foreign Policy, said more people will become infected in the second wave of the virus outbreak.
He also criticized citizens for not taking the seriousness of the emerging virus seriously. In an interview with the Ilna news agency on Sunday, Jamal added that “the continuation of this reckless behavior by citizens will lead to more people being injured in the second wave.”
Without masks, without spaces
He noted that there are public gatherings in Shiraz and Fares provinces, without observing the rules of social separation, and not wearing masks on public transport, adding: “There is no doubt that these people should be treated because they have a direct role in the outburst of the crown.
This occurs at a time when the Iranian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 1,383 new cases were registered, bringing the total number to 107,603, while 51 deaths were registered, bringing the total to 6,640.
Yesterday, Saturday, authorities revealed an increase in injuries in the southwest of the country, as several officials warned that the epidemic could return in a second wave.
