He pointed out that “after forwarding the code, the hacker activates the victim’s” WhatsApp “application on his device, making it available to him, and therefore the account holder has become the subject of blackmail.

The statement highlighted that “these messages are not from the” WhatsApp “company, and are intended to remove information and data from the recipient’s device, in preparation for later use in fraudulent actions.

To avoid being a victim of these events, the General Directorate of Internal Security called on honorable citizens to neglect these messages and not respond to their content.
