A “Druze Message” to Officials: Make no mistake!

Sheikh Aql of the Druze community, Sheikh Nasruddin al-Gharib, issued a statement saying that “it is as if the dream could come true with the birth of the next government, but it was amputated. To all officials we say: The Druze are an established sect that fought and fought for the cause of Lebanon. Their case is in Bchamoun, and we are the ones who opposed France and fell martyrs, and it was we who went to Malikiyah and Nazareth with a popular army and under the leadership of Prince Majid Arslan at a time when the Arabs were negotiating with the Jews, and we were the ones who had defense and interior ministers in all ten governments.

And he added: “So how much do you plan to marginalize us today with a ministerial post that does not take place today in light of this regional chaos? We are talking about the just allies and the other parties, so do not sin against the Druze and do not be deceived with power and seats, because we have enough ways to get our rights. As if you are still shaking the dust from the explosion of the port of your clothes, and with this you only see with one eye. Why are you arrogant and the anger of the people? does this world descend upon you? So be humble and deal with us in what your national duty imposes on you.

The statement concluded: “We always speak of sincere patriotism away from sect and sect, so that Lebanon continues to be an incubator for all its citizens. So let us remain as we were and do not harm an entire community, and we will build on its imperative.”
