He added: “We discuss with His Beatitude the need to form a rescue government without delay, of experienced and competent ministers, with high credibility, and in accordance with the principles of the French initiative, with an eagerness to dismantle mines and obstructive pretexts, and respect the constitution, the national alliance and the powers and role of the institutions, especially the site of the charter of the presidency The Republic The discussion focused on the priorities that the desired government is supposed to address, specifically the following :

First: because life is the most sacred sanctity, the procedural steps must be accelerated to vaccinate against Corona in order to protect all Lebanese.
In the context of concern for people’s lives and their rights, we condemn and denounce the murder of activist and thinker Luqman Salim, and demand that criminals be exposed and brought to justice. Of course, we agree with His Beatitude the Patriarch that Lebanon was and will continue to be a land of freedom and free people.

Second – The incumbency of the next government to radically address the economic-financial-monetary-banking and social crisis, and to work immediately to update the financial recovery plan to adapt it to the developments that have taken place since last spring and to comply with the French newspaper. and the requirements for dealing with the International Monetary Fund.

Third – The commitment to complete the forensic audit on the accounts of the Banque du Liban, which are the entry point for disclosing financial and monetary facts and where the gap is approximately $ 55 billion other than government public debt. And by extension, the criminal examination of the accounts of state institutions and the making of cuts to state accounts, which have been in the drawers of the State Audit Office for almost two years.

Fourth – Follow up on diligent work to pass reform laws such as anti-corruption, capital control, recovery of stolen funds, funds transferred discreetly, competition law, public procurement law, and customs law , and reform the tax system to make it more efficient and fair based on the unified tax plate and at the service of the productive and humanized economy.

Fifth, remove Lebanon from the circle of regional conflicts, except for the issue of conflict with Israel, and resolve the problem of Palestinian refugees on the basis of justice by implementing the right of return in accordance with international resolutions. and not at the expense of Lebanon.

Sixth – Work to return displaced Syrians to their country as soon as possible, in a way that preserves their safety and dignity, and in a way that alleviates the enormous burdens, which are billions of dollars, on the national economy and the Public finances.

Seventh – Close monitoring of the investigation process of the Nakba and the crime of the Port of Beirut that has elapsed for more than six months, and an emphasis on discovering all the facts as soon as possible.

In response to a question from the “Al-Jadeed” correspondent about the government situation, Bteish said that President Aoun is “very interested in forming the government as soon as possible according to the rules, and this matter requires an agreement between him. and the designated president who has to speak with him, and matters will be resolved if the intentions are clear.
