The Jordanian government imposed several strict measures to face the wave of increase in the number of new infections by the Coronavirus.

Jordanian health officials confirmed on Monday that the Kingdom is experiencing the peak of the epidemic spread of the emerging corona virus, which is the fourth stage in the stages of social spread.

Officials warned of an increase in the number of infections and deaths during the next period, if the necessary preventive measures are not taken to prevent the spread of the virus among the population.

Despite the high number of crown injuries and deaths in Jordan, the competent authorities have not made a decision to implement a full ban until now.

Authorities believe that the ban “depends on the ability of the medical system to absorb injuries, the percentage of occupancy of intensive care beds and artificial respirators, not on the number of injuries recorded.”

And on Sunday, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced that 68 deaths and 2,373 cases of the novel Corona virus were recorded in the Kingdom in 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,772 and infections to 143,678.

The press brief issued by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health indicated that the number of cases that were admitted for treatment in accredited hospitals, on Sunday, reached 243, while 188 cases left hospitals after recovery, according to the Petra official news agency.

The summary noted that the total number of cases currently receiving treatment in hospitals has reached 2,116, of which 447 are in intensive care beds.

Likewise, it indicated that 9,583 laboratory tests were carried out, raising the total number of tests carried out since the beginning of the pandemic until now to 2,184,026, noting that the percentage of positive tests for this day reached almost 24.8%.

The Health Ministry pointed out that the decrease in the number of exams is due to the fact that the fixed exam stations do not work during the days of the integral closure, which indicates that the exams will return to their usual levels as of Sunday.

The ministry called for compliance with safety and prevention regulations, the use of masks and not holding meetings of more than 20 people.
