And the Danish government issued a controversial decision to execute all mink animals raised in the country, despite doubts from experts about the severity of the new mutation.

Later cases of mink crown were recorded in Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and the United States.

Hundreds of thousands of mink animals are raised in Greece and the export of their skins annually contributes between 60 and 70 million euros to the state budget.
