Erdogan said that “62 defense projects were implemented in 2020, and the result today is approximately 700 projects.”
He added that “Turkey has 7 defense companies among the top 100 in the world, 5 of which entered the list in the last five years.”
The Turkish president also indicated that the “Karagulak” system of eavesdropping and high frequency interference is ready for use, and will give his country great power in electronic warfare.
He also noted that “the role of the defense industries sector in reducing the current account deficit cannot be denied.”
The lira fell after data revealed that the annual inflation rate was approaching 12%, despite measures by the Turkish central bank to tighten monetary policy.
