The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron for North Africa and the Middle East, Patrick Dorrell, reported that “Lebanon is adhering to the French initiative in its own interest, and this matter will only be achieved through a reliable government capable of carrying out the required reforms mentioned in the document that was agreed between President Macron and Lebanese political leaders, and coordinated effectively with international partners who pledged to help Lebanon emerge from the difficult economic and financial conditions it is going through.

Aoun considered that “the financial forensic audit process in the accounts of the Banque du Liban, which is considered one of the pillars of these reforms, faces many obstacles, which we face persistently, and the extension of 3 months to the company “Álvarez y Messal” to achieve this purpose.

Aoun noted that “the main concern today is the continued stability in the country amid regional storms and the unprecedented crises facing Lebanon, as well as the repercussions of the presence of displaced Syrians, economic difficulties and the spread of the Corona epidemic in addition to the explosion that occurred in the port of Beirut », noting that the sanctions imposed by the United States Targeted Lebanese politicians,” the matter has become more complicated. “

Aoun said that all of these situations require a broad national consensus to form a government that can accomplish the tasks required of it in cooperation with the House of Representatives to pass the necessary reform laws, noting the importance of broad national consultation on this delicate issue. stage.

Councilor Dorrell conveyed to Aoun the greetings of President Macron and his interest in the situation in Lebanon, highlighting the solidity of relations between the two countries, pointing out the veracity and seriousness of the economic crisis and the need to accelerate the formation of a efficient government acceptable to all parties in order to undertake the required reforms and restore the confidence of the international community.

Durrell indicated that France will continue to provide urgent assistance in various areas, especially in the educational field, noting that the international community’s fulfillment of its obligations to Lebanon is linked to the implementation of reforms.

From Baabda, Durrell traveled to Ain al-Tineh, where he met with the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, and from there to Beit al-Wasat, where he met Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri.

President Berri’s media office said after the meeting that President Berri informed the French adviser of his gratitude to President Macron for taking them to Lebanon, highlighting his position in favor of the French initiative and the need to implement reforms, especially in the field of electricity and the fight against corruption. Berri indicated that the only entrance to the salvation of Lebanon is the realization of today’s government. Tomorrow it will be made up of specialized ministers who are confident that parliament is waiting impatiently to try to cross Lebanon to safety.

Prior to Dorrell’s meeting with the political parties, there was consultation and coordination between them, especially between President Nabih Berri and the Chairman of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt in Ain al-Tineh, where Jumblatt wanted President Berri to mediate between the parties. Presidents Michel Aoun and Saad Hariri, and that it will help turn some corners that impede understanding. On the structure of the government, especially Christian participation and who will correspond.

In addition to what was said, the French delegate sought to promote the formation of the Lebanese government before the end of December, fulfilling more than one right, the first of which is the anniversary of the independence of Lebanon from the French mandate on November 22 ( 1943), and the second is the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the work forces of his country. With “UNIFIL” in southern Lebanon on the occasion of Christmas and New Years, if there is a government that meets with officials and is not satisfied with inspecting the units of its country in the south, as French President George Pompidou did in 1983 when he arrived in Lebanon to inspect the French headquarters of “Gandarm”, which was destroyed by an explosion with the headquarters of the US Marine Corps, without meeting with the President of the Republic at that time, Amin Gemayel, or with any of the officials, and the third is the need to get out of the government tunnel before the current date of the 20 of the Paris conference to support Lebanon, which is not appropriate to be done in the absence of an effective government, and the fourth is to sign sanctions US policies and diplomats against Lebanese officials. During the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term in the White House, the fifth, or rather the first, the need for Lebanon and its people for a government to curb the state’s drive toward federal and confederal disintegration.

It seems that the presidential team rejects the idea of forming an “important government” to serve immediate interests, while two regional parties benefit from this, Iran and Israel, although the objectives differ, according to the channel “MTV”, which led to the President Macron to dispatch his adviser, Patrick Dorrell. After President Aoun refused to receive French foreign intelligence chief Emmanuel Bonn, who is subsequently accused of participating in punitive schemes against Lebanese officials, provided Dorrell informs Lebanese officials that President Macron’s visit is linked to the formation of the Lebanese government, not to the government of their wishes.

The vice president of Parliament, Elie Ferzli, had warned that if the government is not formed this week, next week the situation would take a downward path, but yesterday he again preached the agreement of Presidents Aoun and Hariri on the form of government and the number of portfolios, and that the agreement on the names until next week, confirming that their information This is not a “leak.”

In turn, Future Movement sources said that “tomorrow the government will announce whether Gebran Bassil agrees to leave the Ministry of Energy.”

The vice president of the Free Patriotic Movement, Mansour Fadel, responded through the channel “Al Jadid”, saying with emotion: That Saad Hariri agrees to negotiate ministries without exceptions, to form a government today, before tomorrow.
