The Lebanese and Israeli parties held the fourth round of indirect negotiations on the demarcation of maritime borders on Wednesday at the United Nations headquarters in Ras al-Naqoura, in the presence of a representative from Washington.

The Lebanese News Agency indicated that the Lebanese delegation presented at the negotiating table documents, documents and maps that prove Lebanon’s right to the borders of its marine waters, in accordance with the recognized law of the sea, and adhering to its right since its marine area of 1,430 square kilometers.
The Lebanese negotiating delegation included Deputy Chief of Operations Staff, Brigadier General Bassam Yassin as Chairman, Marine Corps Colonel Mazen Basbous, expert on border disputes between countries, Dr. Naguib Masih, member of the Board of Directors from the Oil Sector, Wissam February, and a representative of the United Nations in Lebanon.
The negotiations were also accompanied by strict security measures for the army and “UNIFIL”, as intense patrols were carried out in the Naqoura area and maritime patrols of a UNIFIL military ship were seen off Naqoura.
