The World Health Organization announces that 6 countries have detected cases of the new Corona virus associated with farms that raise mink animals for their fur.

Today, Saturday, the World Health Organization announced, in a statement posted on its website, that 6 countries have detected cases of the new Corona virus related to farms that raise mink for their fur.
“Initial observations indicate that the clinical situation, severity, and transmission among infected people are similar to those caused by other viruses circulating from SARS-Cove-2,” an organization said in a statement.
The organization also stated that the countries that have detected HIV infections in mink are Denmark, the United States, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
The organization said preliminary results indicate that “this strain, which is associated with mink, has a moderately low sensitivity to neutralizing antibodies.”
WHO called for further studies to confirm the initial results and “to understand any potential effects of those results with respect to diagnoses, treatments and vaccines in development.”
Danish authorities plan to euthanize more than 15 million mink animals, as the animals were infected with the coronavirus and are now a threat to the population.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said: “The main concern is that infected animals carry a mutated virus, which may threaten the effectiveness of vaccines against Corona.”
