In Lebanon, no one wants to answer real questions like those related to the equation of weapons that protect corruption, the electricity problem, the collapse of the banking system or the bombing of the port of Beirut.
The “Hezbollah era” in Lebanon has entered its fifth year. What fate awaits the country at the end of this era, on October 31, 2022? In clear terms, does Lebanon exist at the end of the “Hezbollah era”?
There is no guarantee that Lebanon will remain in its current form in any way after it became clear that there is a need for radical reforms at all levels in light of the insistence of a certain group to lay their hand on the country and disrupt political life in it … while at the same time transforming it into a land that expels its people. There is a clear campaign aimed at the displacement of Lebanese from Lebanon, in addition to requiring that they be displaced by Christians who in the past made up half of Lebanon’s population and whose numbers have decreased over time.
It is no longer a secret that the “Hezbollah era” that began in 2016 will take over the job unless the two years Michel Aoun spent at the Baabda Palace between September 1988 and October 1990 could not do so. At that time, as head of an interim government, he insisted on going to war with the “Lebanese Forces”, which were still a Christian militia. The result was the destruction of a part of the Christian area over the heads of its residents and the largest wave of Christian immigration from Lebanon.
President Michel Aoun has only two years left in the Baabda palace. But these are crucial years for the fate of Lebanon as a viable state, with many worrying signs. At the forefront of these indications is that the fate of Lebanon does not matter as much to “Hezbollah” as it does to make Lebanon an Iranian card and nothing else in the negotiations that may take place between the US administration on the one hand and the “Republic Islamic “on the other. During the “Hezbollah era”, Lebanon’s decision was no longer Lebanese to the extent that Lebanon is required to be a mere subordinate of the Iranian-led “axis of resistance.”
If we consider the events that Lebanon has experienced since the election of General Michel Aoun as President of the Republic on the last day of October-October 2016, it is clear that there is no ray of hope on the horizon. All that there is a series of collapses is accompanied by a neglect of the reality that the country cannot survive after being controlled by the arms equation that protects corruption. This formula imposed by “Hezbollah” allowed him to name who is the Christian president of the republic in Lebanon. There is no indication that there is anyone who can break this equation that led Lebanon to what it achieved, that is, to a country bankrupt in all fields and at all levels, especially after the collapse of the Lebanese banking system and after the bombing of the port of Beirut on August 4 – last August, that is, before More than three months.
It is easy to say that the popular movement that began on October 17-October 2019 was the root of the deterioration that led Lebanon to bankruptcy, and that had it not been for the popular uprising, the banks would not have found a justification to close. their doors and seize depositors’ money. This is a big lie, not yet a lie, in the absence of someone to tell the Lebanese what happened to their money and who is really responsible for the collapse of the banking system that forms the backbone of the Lebanese economy. Is there no one to explain why this programmed campaign against banks and the banking system was after the US sanctions against “Hezbollah”?
In the “era of Hezbollah” there is no authority capable of answering very simple questions. There is waste at all levels. It is a pact that expresses the loss of Lebanon, which went on to negotiate with Israel on the demarcation of the maritime borders of the location of the bankrupt country in all fields.
What are the Lebanese supposed to expect in the short term? The answer is simply that the “Hezbollah era” has not yet been able to answer any of the questions asked, including those related to Lebanese and Arab money in the banks. More importantly, there is no authority in Lebanon willing to give an answer on the motive behind the attack on the port of Beirut. How is it possible that after three months have passed, no one can give even a general idea of who is responsible for the negligence that caused this disaster?
In fact, no question can address an era that is considered above responsibility simply because the current formula is that guns protect corruption. If it had been different, and if there had been any glimmer of hope for a better future for the Lebanese, the new Lebanese government would have been quickly formed headed by Saad Hariri. The government was not formed for a very simple reason, due to the fact that the so-called “Aounist Movement” was willing to keep the Ministry of Energy in its power. In 12 years, this current did not solve the problem of electricity in Lebanon. In addition, electricity is responsible for half of the Lebanese public debt, that is, the waste of about fifty billion dollars, while it was possible to transform the electricity sector into a profitable sector for the Lebanese state and contribute all those thousands of millions that go to the Turkish ships that provide a part of the electricity it needs. To Lebanon.
Nobody in Lebanon wants to answer real questions like those related to the equation of weapons that protect corruption, the electricity problem … or the collapse of the banking system, or the bombing of the port of Beirut. In the absence of someone willing to assume their responsibilities, including the responsibility to obstruct the formation of a new government capable of dealing with the international community, there is no way to escape the question: Which Lebanon is at the end of the “era of Hezbollah? “What is Lebanon after October 31 – October 2022? Perhaps the answer to such a question can be found in another question: Will Lebanese citizens of people with skills and minds who create a future for their country remain in Lebanon … or will what was not achieved in 1990 be achieved? What was not understood at that time of the country’s emigration, when Michel Aoun was in the Baabda Palace, is now being realized. In the year 2020, there is no more Lebanese than his ambition to leave Lebanon!
