Hezbollah issued the following statement:
Hezbollah condemns the decision made by the United States Department of the Treasury against the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement, His Excellency Minister Gebran Bassil, and considers it a pure political decision and a blatant and forceful interference in the internal affairs of Lebanon.
The United States of America, sponsor of terrorism and extremism in the world, is also the country that sponsors corruption, corrupt and dictatorial states around the world and ensures their protection and support by all means. Therefore, he is the last person with the right to speak about the fight against corruption.
The United States is using its national laws, including anti-terrorism and anti-corruption laws, to extend its hegemony and influence in the world, and it is using them against any free and honorable state, party, current, or person who does not obey its policies, does not implement its instructions and do not agree with their plans that aim to sow discord and division and create internal and regional conflicts. And that this decision is specifically aimed at subjecting a great Lebanese political team to US conditions and dictates on Lebanon.
By supporting the Free Patriotic Movement and its leader, we express our patriotic, moral and human solidarity with him in the face of these unjust decisions and rejected fabrications.
