Beirut Examining Magistrate Asaad Bayram heard, in a prolonged session, the testimony of Representative Hadi Hobeish in the case against him of the Appeal Prosecutor in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, for the crime of libel and slander, in the presence of the chief of the Northern Bar Union, Muhammad Al-Daherd’s agent and Marbeish Mura’s lawyer. Once the investigation, which lasted 3 hours, was completed, it was decided to postpone the session until next Friday, in order to make way for reconciliation between the two parties.
Judge Bayram also asked the agency to show the video that includes the statement by Deputy Hadi Hobeish, which he made in front of the Palace of Justice before the session, in which he expressed his apology from the judicial authority.

Leaving the Palace of Justice, Captain Al-Murad expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere of the session and said: “We come to reaffirm our respect for the judiciary and the preservation of justice with its wings, the judiciary and the legal profession. ”.

He said: “We emphasized the full openness to any reconciliation that may occur,” noting that “this reconciliation was proposed by a great authority, and we consider the incident to be over, and we renew our apologies from the judiciary and from any judge who may be being attacked, and we are maintaining it while preserving the independence of the judiciary. ” Also in the Administration and Justice Commission we are working to establish the independence of the Judicial Power, and we hope that this file will be closed definitively.

As for Hobeish’s attorney, Marwan Daher, he noted that “his client testified about the forms and the mutual contamination between him and Judge Aoun.” He said: “We have deposited the investigating judge with all the videos and documents that prove that Judge Aoun had made statements that were an insult to the dignity of MP Hobeish, and that she was the one who initiated the verb forms, and this is test in the videos. “
Attorney Daher said that “while there is a mutual insult between the two parties, we will present a memorandum under article 585 of the Penal Code, which establishes that“ the two parties are exempt from sanction if the defamation is reciprocal ”, indicating that MP Habeesh“ during the session he renewed his respect for the judicial authority and the Supreme Judicial Council.
