A letter sent by Afkari’s parents to the director of the Iranian Penitentiary Organization, Muhammad Mahdi Hajj Mohammadi, revealed in which they protested against the refusal of the judicial authorities and officials of Shiraz prison to investigate their complaints about the torture of their children. , as reported by the channel “Iran International”.

The parents protested against the violation of the law by the Iranian judicial authorities and said: “We demand the immediate end of the isolation and the transfer of our children to the public ward, so the complaint is registered and followed up.”
Furthermore, the parents demanded that the people who issued the orders isolate their children and torture them in jail.
They added that previous complaints against the former head of the guard at Adel Abad prison in Shiraz, Abbas Khadim al-Husseini, had not been investigated despite forensic reports and videos of torture at the prison, and that officials from the prison refused to register the complaints.

For his part, Ruhollah Rezaei Dana, head of Shiraz Central Prison, said about the continued detention of the Afkari family’s children in solitary confinement: “I have no responsibility in this regard, and the judicial system is the one that decided to keep them. in the solitary cell ”.
Parents also criticized judicial officials and prison inspectors for not responding to their phone calls to follow up on the torture and solitary confinement imposed on their children.
The parents, Hussain Afkari and Bahia Namjoo, also wrote in their letter: “They did not even mention to us the motive for the torture and solitary confinement of our children.”
