Last August, a man rescued a 10-year-old girl from drowning on a beach in Monterey, California, United States, but her savior “remained unknown.”
As reported by “The Week”, the girl’s mother, Samantha Whiting, made a great effort to meet her daughter’s savior, who only knew her first name.
Samantha was determined to meet Bastender Kevin Cozy, thank and show her gratitude for the brave act he took. She said, “If I hadn’t been there, I certainly would have lost it.”
“He is one of the greatest heroes I have ever met,” said the girl, Hayley.
When all of Samantha’s attempts to identify the “hero” failed, she had to turn to a Facebook group to find him. A few hours later the mother’s wish was granted.
After a brief chat with him, Samantha found out that Cozy and his fiancee postponed their wedding due to the Corona pandemic and lack of financial means.
To return the favor, Haley’s mother launched a “Go Fund Me” fundraising campaign to help the young man with the costs of the wedding. The campaign was a success, although the value of the money raised was not known, but it was enough to celebrate the wedding.
The wedding may take place next fall, and Haley and her mother were invited to share in the joy of this day.
