Rescue teams pulled a woman and 3 of her children from the rubble of a collapsed building some 23 hours after the earthquake in Izmir, Turkey.

The Anadolu Agency correspondent stated that the teams had managed to communicate with Ms Sahar Darali Berengik (38 years old), and she learned of the existence of her 4 children “Azal” and “Azam” (twins / 10 years old), “Umut” (7 years) and “Elif” (3 years) under the rubble of the collapsed building “Dugnlar”.

After that, the teams stepped up their efforts and managed to save the mother and three of her children 23 hours after the earthquake, and continue their efforts to save the fourth child. Ambulances took the mother and her three children to the hospital.

On Friday, an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of the “Safri Hesar” district in Izmir state, according to the Turkish disaster and emergency management agency “Afad”.

At noon on Saturday, the death toll from the earthquake reached 26 dead and 831 injured, including 504 who had been treated in hospitals, according to official data.
