A violent attack by the Pastor on political authority

The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, launched a violent attack on political authority, saying: “Now that we are faced with a very important historical and constitutional right to form a new government, the political community must recognize its inability to represent the citizens, earn their trust and rule the country. And, even temporarily, in front of a supportive government work team that would lead the country towards the path of advancement.

In his sermon at the end of the Synod of Bishops of the Holy Maronite Church, Al-Rahi continued: “ While we await the formation of the government quickly, we want it together with all the people, the government of Lebanon and Lebanon, the government of the constitution and the charter, the government of the victims of the Beirut port explosion, the government of the cry of mothers, fathers and children, the government.
