He arrived during his presidency of a meeting to discuss the mechanism of implementation of the twinning program, which allows university hospitals to train the medical and nursing apparatus in intensive care that have been established in government hospitals to treat Corona patients, in cooperation with the World Health Organization and the program coordinator of the Mediterranean Academy of Health Systems MEDALS.

Minister Hassan explained that “this program continues to provide support to government hospitals. After significant progress has been made in providing logistical support, securing equipment and covering a large part of the needs of these hospitals, this academic support comes to support hospitals. government with the nursing staff “.

He noted that “within the framework of this twinning program, the World Health Organization provides support to government hospitals by purchasing services with specific contracts with a time limit to cover existing departments with qualified human cadres, provided that the private university hospitals provide training. “

The Health Minister affirmed that “this program achieves alliances within the protection strategy of Lebanese society”, praising what it “reflects in the advanced sense of responsibility in university hospitals, and the lack of hesitation in the government hospitals that opened “Corona” patient departments despite the law prohibiting employment and canceling overtime.

In this context, Minister Hassan wished that “the competent government authorities give priority to the need for public hospitals to contract and acquire services, so that the dynamics of dealing with them is oriented to support and develop them.” He called on “all the private hospitals that have so far been late to open Corona departments to take the initiative. In addition, especially since the health systems of all the countries of the world are prepared to face the epidemic “.

The Minister of Health launched the twinning program between 11 government hospitals (Al Bouar, Baabda, Tripoli, Halba, Nabatiyeh, Jezzine, Zahle, Baalbek, Saida, Siblin, Dahr Al-Basheq) and 5 private university hospitals (Rizk Hospital – University American Lebanese, American University Hospital – University The American University, Hotel Dieu Hospital – Jesuit University, Saint George Hospital – Balamand, Mount Lebanon Hospital – Balamand) and a government university hospital (Hariri Hospital – Lebanese University).
