Today, Thursday, the Mecca Police Department announced the arrest of a Saudi citizen, who said he had assaulted the security guard at the French consulate in Jeddah.

The Emirate of Makkah province stated in a statement, through its “Twitter” account, that the accident resulted in the victim being slightly injured.

The Special Diplomatic Security Force was able to arrest a citizen in the fourth decade of his life. After he attacked a security guard at the French consulate in Jeddah with a sharp object, causing minor injuries, the wounded man was taken to hospital for treatment, arresting the perpetrator and taking legal action against him.

Subsequently, local sources said that the situation of the security guard who was injured in the attack on the French consulate in Jeddah “is not cause for concern”.

This comes in conjunction with the announcement by French police today that an attacker killed three people, including a woman, who beheaded, Thursday, in a church in Nice, France, in an incident that the city’s mayor described as a “terrorist act”.

Nice Mayor Christian Estrozzi said on “Twitter” that the attack took place near or near the Notre Dame church, and that the police had arrested the attacker. Police confirmed that three were killed in the attack and others were injured.

The Nice incident was preceded by the murder of Samuel Patty, a French teacher who was beheaded for displaying cartoons of the Prophet in one of his classes.
