The newspaper quoted informed sources as saying: “The Lebanese and Israeli parties responded to the US desire supported by the leadership of” UNIFIL “to postpone today’s session for 48 hours, that is, until October 28, the deadline it needs. the head of the American delegation, Ambassador John Dorcher, who is waiting for some technical equipment that he needs, which allows him to complete the task assigned to him.

The two sides held the first round of indirect negotiations to demarcate the borders on October 14, at the headquarters of the international forces operating in southern Lebanon, “UNIFIL”, in the Ras al-Naqoura region, south of Lebanon, in the presence of a representative of the United Nations and the United States of America.

Earlier, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said that Lebanon is counting on the mediating role of the United States in reaching just solutions during negotiations to demarcate maritime borders with Israel.
