Fadlullah's account: a hand that does not applaud

Ghada Halawi wrote in “The Call of the Nation”:

When he asked MP Hassan Fadlallah two years ago to follow up on the most complicated archive in Lebanon, which is waste and corruption tracking, the path was not paved for him in a country that is drowning in all kinds of Sectarian, political, administrative and financial corruption extends to all aspects of life and does not exclude anything. The numbers he provided and the files he reviewed at his press conference announced by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah are just a small part of what he has in his possession and what he and his team accomplished. What has been announced has been announced. However, the basic node of naming things by their names is the reason for the ills everyone is talking about. Corruption exists, but where are the corrupt?

For more than an hour and a half, Fadlullah spoke until his voice wept and tired. Fatigue is not so much talking here, but perhaps a responsibility placed on your shoulders and equipment. He prolonged the conversation and elaborated until his prolongation made him vulnerable to criticism, and despite everything he said and added to the description of reality and the numbers, there were those who asked him about the names, asking him and, as a matter of challenge, naming things by their names. Tomorrow, Hezbollah will emerge from among its opponents who say to it: You cover your allies in corruption and do not remove the cover, but the grace of God has touched this point and other points.

Through the inventory of accounts he submitted, he appeared to place primary responsibility on the judiciary and hold him accountable if he did not count or close the files in honor of sectarian or political accounts. Between the lines of what he said, some arrows flew to extend the judicial body, where “some judges delay or hide files in drawers or collude with the corrupt, and the responsibility for investigating and holding them accountable lies with the Judicial Inspection Authority” , calling on the Supreme Judicial Council as president and members to “push to decide everything.” The corruption files submitted to the judiciary by any party and in any sector, far from any discretion or politicization or pressure from any party that has come, “and called them” to a real uprising against corruption within the judiciary and against any political interference in their work, especially in the fight against corruption. “

The other official after the judiciary, whom Fadlallah blamed for not fighting corruption, is the House of Representatives, which does not pass anti-corruption legislation whenever such files are included in the discussion. The last chapter was what happened to the bill on the trial of ministers before the ordinary judiciary, which was brought up for discussion within the committees

Regarding the “Call of the Nation”, Fadlallah says: “The country is no longer tolerable, and correcting the situation has become mandatory, especially with a financial gap of $ 63 million. Is it permissible to be silenced by considerations sectarian and sectarian? If “Corona” was subject to the measure of sectarianism, then much less archives Corruption, silence is no longer possible.

In Fadlallah’s appearance yesterday, Hezbollah will have kept its promise it made about two years ago, submitting to the Public Opinion Tribunal an inventory of the corruption files “with facts, facts and documents.” Since before the last government of President Saad Hariri, Fadlallah started with a great team working on the collection of files, facts and figures, and worked hard in the field sometimes as a new sewer file, as well as the archive of the companies of fuel. “Ten files required a lot of work and effort on their part, making way for judicial authorities and oversight bodies, which are also responsible for achieving the proper course of investigation and scrutiny, and identifying the responsible authorities.”

From the beginning, Hezbollah realized the difficulty of the war against corruption in Lebanon “which is actually more difficult than the war with the Israeli occupation, due to the intertwining of internal complications,” and “because the corrupt they will not leave sectarian or sectarian weapons unless they resort to it and strengthen themselves with political protections to avoid their responsibility. ” The examination is difficult and the archive contains corruption and theft of public funds over the years. Where will the beginning be and what will the end be like? As usual, at every conference Fadlallah dedicates to talking about corruption, the matter lacks nomenclature, which puts “Hezbollah” on the dock by keeping pace with its allies and turning a blind eye to it directly, but the matter has other interpretations with Fadlallah “They want us to name it as a flawed form of creation, But speaking of corruption has a methodology and values, how do we say about a person who is corrupt by name and no court ruling has been issued against him, and I say so, and his file is still under the jurisdiction of the judiciary? A complicated sectarian system continued to be his government over a judicial authority that was installed for decades. There are his positions based on his subordination to a political authority that robbed the judiciary of its independence, in order to approve its projects and benefits. Some of these judges allied with corrupt people within that authority. Rather, he was more corrupt than the thieves themselves. Against corruption, whatever the consequences, they exist today and we will stand together in defense of the people’s money. “

And because the fight against corruption is carried out through the law, “we started a legislative workshop and made suggestions for laws, some of which were passed in Parliament, such as amending the Personnel Law to allow prosecution . Legislative considerations incomprehensible considerations, and if approved, there would be former ministers before investigative judges today. “

And underlining that the objective is to consider the war against corruption as a national problem and not to score points, take revenge or settle the account, “commit” not to defame one of the suspects of corruption, or whose names are mentioned in the files that we present to the judiciary. Under the custody of the judiciary, and it is solely up to him to determine who is the accused and who is innocent, and the judiciary is the one who governs the corrupt and takes him to prison. Or try to earn points or a creation word. “

After all, what did he say and present to public opinion as a witness to his efforts? Fadlallah says: “It is a long way and some files have already reached the judiciary, such as the communications and fuel sector, and the commons file, while the financial accounting file is still stuck.” Despite all that he presented, Hezbollah believes that fighting corruption is a collective responsibility “that people should contribute to fighting it and exposing related files to achieve the desired results.”
