Most viewers of the recent election debate between US presidential candidates believed that Democrat Joe Biden had won against Republican President Donald Trump, according to the results of a telephone poll.
The opinion poll conducted by SSRS at the request of the pro-Democratic channel CNN indicated that 53% of those who watched the debate on Thursday night through various television channels and the Internet gave the victory to Biden, while 39% of viewers rated Trump as a winner.
And 73% of those polled said Biden’s criticism of Trump was “generally correct,” compared to 50% who felt that Trump was also right in his attacks on Biden.
It should be noted that winning the debates does not guarantee success in the election per se, as opinion polls showed that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton won all three rounds of debate with Trump in 2016, but lost the election anyway.
