The explosion of the port of Beirut remains a mystery that invades the Lebanese corridors, as there is no new news about this genocide, which is caused by the greed of the political class, and we still do not know more than two months who is responsible, who is responsible and what are the reasons.

In this context, Human Rights Watch announced on Thursday that the Lebanese authorities’ investigations into the explosion that destroyed the port of Beirut this summer have failed to achieve credible results, despite the fact that two months have passed since. The explosion.

The organization said this was the result of political interference accompanied by an ingrained flaw in the judicial system, which “made it impossible to carry out a reliable and impartial local investigation.”

Human Rights Watch called for a UN-led investigation into the causes of the explosion to determine responsibility.

The New York-based human rights organization called on the International Support Group for Lebanon, set to meet next week, to pressure the Lebanese authorities to agree to an independent investigation.

The massive explosion on August 4 killed nearly 200 people and injured more than 6,000 when around 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, a high explosive, exploded in the port of Beirut, destroying many neighborhoods and thousands of residential, historic and of health.
It was not immediately clear why the chemicals that had been stored in the warehouse for six years ignited.

Local media reported that 25 people were arrested for their connection to the case and charges were brought against 30 people, most of them port and customs officials.
