Today, Wednesday, Barcelona players will be screened for Covid-19 disease at the club’s training ground, before individual drills resume “in the coming days.”

La Liga soccer teams were allowed to resume the exercises this week, after the government began easing restrictions imposed due to the Coruña virus epidemic.

The Barcelona club said the league leaders decided to take the tests, after examining the facilities at the training ground.

The organizers of the Spanish league hope to resume the activities of the championship next June.

First and second class players will perform the exercises individually after reaching an agreement with the authorities in the health and sports sectors that guarantee the safety of the players and workers.

Soccer matches in Spain were suspended indefinitely in March during the spread of the epidemic. Each player must undergo a virus test before resuming exercises.

For the first time, it established a set of detailed rules on how to resume training, with the aim of ensuring compliance with the appropriate health protection measures. These rules include gradual training for players to start training individually, and then in small groups, before members of the entire team can train together.

“These measures cover a period of approximately four weeks, in various stages, and will be subject, in all cases, to the process of easing the restrictions established by the government,” said a statement from the organizers of the Spanish league.

There are still 11 rounds of the league games, that Barcelona is in the first position, two points from Real Madrid.
