It says in “Al-Akhbar”:
After the stabilization of the number of wounded passing through the Beirut International Airport, the “expatriate” counter regained its momentum, with high numbers, reaching 80 wounded at a time in the last 24 hours. Most of these injuries are due to returnees from three countries, which are Turkey, Egypt and Iraq. Therefore, calls to stop flights between Lebanon and these countries began to increase. However, these calls did not find an echo, especially since the decision to stop flights between two countries requires the interference of the Prime Minister. So far, it has not taken the initiative to make any decision in this regard.

These numbers are added to the “local” numbers that are also increasing day by day, which registered 1,312 of 1,392 injured yesterday, raising the total of injured to 34,711, while the death count registered five new victims during the last hours, to stabilize the total. To the victims in 531.

The Corona crisis in prisons remains a major concern, especially with the high number of injuries among detainees and convicts. There is no solution to this problem, especially in the face of prison overcrowding, which led Defense Minister Zeina Aker to hold a broad meeting to discuss “the issue of overcrowding in the face of the Corona epidemic and ways to mitigate it.” The discussion was about how to articulate the Military Prosecutor’s Office, the investigating judges, the permanent court and the military cassation court, with the aim of finding practical solutions for the relief of the detainees in glasses and detention centers, in addition to prisons.

In addition, apart from the decision of the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities to close 79 localities within the third batch, the governors are working to accompany the Ministry of the Interior, taking emergency measures in a series of towns and cities that register a high number of contagions, in order to limit the spread of the virus. In this regard, the Governor of Mount Lebanon, Muhammad Makkawi, yesterday adopted two decisions, the first of which concerns various areas of the southern suburbs of Beirut (Ghobeiry, Haret Hreik, Al-Mureija, Burj Al-Barajneh, Hawitat Al-Ghadir and Al-Laylaki) and the second one is located in the Deir Qoubelki district. The two decisions decided, on the one hand, to cancel all social events, parties and evenings, and on the other hand, to close all cafes, espressos, video game stores, children’s clubs, sports clubs and public parks. The decision also included the determination of the working hours of commercial establishments, in addition to obliging the municipalities to follow up on the citizen’s commitment to preventive measures.
