Washington praises strategic dialogue with UAE … peacemaker

On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the US State Department, Morgan Ortagus, praised the strategic dialogue with the UAE, noting that it is very important.

Ortagus confirmed in an interview with “Sky News Arabia” that the United States of America cannot fight terrorism without cooperating with the Emirates.

He added that the United Arab Emirates are pioneers in establishing peace in the Middle East.

And early Tuesday, the strategic dialogue between the UAE and the United States was launched through a virtual meeting.

The Emirati delegation was led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the US delegation was led by Mike Pompeo, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the strategic dialogue, the US Secretary of State said: “We are working hand in hand with the UAE to achieve peace in the Middle East.”

Pompeo emphasized that he discussed common regional issues with the UAE to achieve peace in Yemen and Libya, and thanked the UAE for its support in preventing the flow of weapons to the Iranian regime.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the United Arab Emirates and the United States are determined to work together and strengthen the strong relations between the two countries.

During his speech, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan called for the need to redouble efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, which continue to pose a threat to the world.

The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation highlighted the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to apply the rules to combat extremism.
