Coronavirus cases in Turkey return to early May levels

The daily death toll from coronavirus in Turkey rose to about 2,000 on Monday, reaching levels last seen in the country in early May during the application of general isolation measures.

Data from the Ministry of Health showed that 1958 new cases showed symptoms and was diagnosed with “Covid-19”, as the government continues to announce the result of those who only show symptoms.

Turkish Health Minister Fakhruddin Kuja said that the daily number of injuries does not include only those with symptoms. And the 1977 injuries were recorded on May 7.

The data showed that the total number of people infected with the disease in the country reached 349,519 on Monday.

The data also showed the death of 75 people during the past 24 hours, which is also the highest number of daily casualties since early May, bringing the total deaths from the virus to 9,371.

Turkey imposed general isolation measures over the weekend, imposed restrictions on travel between cities and closed restaurants and cafes earlier this year to curb the spread of the virus.

Almost all the restrictions were lifted in June, and since then the government has imposed measures such as social distancing and the use of masks, and has imposed fines on those who break the rules.
