Navalny spoke to CBS’s 60 Minutes program in Berlin, where he is recovering from being poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok.
Navalny, the most prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was ill after falling unconscious on a plane bound for Siberia last August and was flown to Berlin in a coma.
Navalny added, in the interview that aired on Sunday, that he was determined to return to Russia within two months and continue his work in the fight against corruption.
And last September, doctors at a Berlin hospital allowed Russian dissidents to leave after recovering. He indicated that he goes daily to the rehabilitation center, where he still feels that his body has “lost all its elasticity.”
Navalny received treatment in the hospital for a period of 32 days, of which 24 days were in intensive care. While he was being treated at the Berlin hospital, German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited him, Der Spiegel reported.
Navalny believes he was poisoned by touching a bottle, saying the nerve gas was not inside the bottle, but on it.
The Kremlin denied that Russia was responsible for Navalny’s poor health and said there was insufficient evidence of his poisoning and the Russian authorities refused to open an official investigation into the case.
Russian authorities weren’t satisfied with that, but they froze his bank accounts and confiscated his Moscow apartment under a lawsuit while he was recovering from the poisoning.
In an interview with Der Spiegel magazine, Navalny had previously accused Putin of being responsible for his poisoning and emphasized that he was not afraid.
In a strong and unexpected response to the Navalny poisoning, the European Union and Britain imposed sanctions on senior Russian officials close to Putin last Thursday.
