In numbers … an insane rise in crime in Lebanon

“International Information”, in a report entitled “Theft, Murder, Suicide and Traffic Accidents September 2019-2020”, stated that “the security indicators of theft, theft and murders of vehicles continue to register a significant increase during the first 9 months of this year”. Compared to the same period in 2019, while the number of suicides and traffic accidents decreased.

Car theft: up to 129%:
The net number of stolen cars from the beginning of the year to the end of September 2020 increased by 129% compared to the same period in 2019. In a comparison between the months of September 2019-2020, it registered an increase of 177%

Theft: up to 53%:

Theft incidents recorded an increase in the first 9 months of this year compared to the same period in 2020, by 53.2%. In the comparison between September 2019-2020, the increase was 93.8%.

Homicide: 100% increase:
The number of deaths increased during the first 9 months of 2020 by 100% compared to the same period of 2019. In a comparison between the months of September 2019-2020, the increase was 62.5%.

Suicide: 18.8% less:
Suicide incidents decreased during the first 9 months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019 by 18.8%, and during September 2019-2020 they increased by 40%.

Traffic accidents: a decrease of 35.7%:
Traffic accidents decreased during the first 9 months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019 by 35.7%, the number of deaths decreased by 24.8% and the number of injured by 35.5% .
