Quite clearly, the Al-Jihad secretary general revealed the reason for his participation in the meeting of the general secretaries that took place on September 3 between Ramallah and Beirut, in an indirect response to the interpretations that dealt with his participation. at that meeting in a joke and sometimes a joke and a statement sometimes. In a veiled response to the decisions of Turkey’s meeting between “Fatah” and “Hamas”, he said: “We place in our dialogues the priority of formulating a clear and resilient national program, and we have no priority for anything else. The Palestinian forces, due to their size, cannot lead us to a program whose limits we do not know, and we do not know to what extent they can continue in a position of confrontation with the Zionist project.

Al-Nakhalah bases his position on a set of facts that he has always referred to on many occasions, and which he confirmed in his launch speech this year, the most important of which is that the occupied West Bank is the core of the project. Zionist in Palestine, and that the search for an agreement with this entity runs after a mirage that has proven its failure during the last quarter of a century And all the facts indicate that it is impossible, that nobody has offered the Palestinian people any settlement project, and that the only project offered to him is the “Deal of the Century” which aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause and eliminate the Palestinian people. However, he affirmed that the movement will continue to attend the meeting of the general secretaries, without this meaning giving up any of their constants and positions, but only because they believe that “national unity is the escape valve for our cause” and that ” true unity is based on the conviction that the Zionist project must be faced with everyone. Al-Nakhalah did not wait for the next meeting of the general secretaries to determine the position of his movement on the issue of the elections that were discussed in the meetings in Turkey. He clearly stated that “Islamic Jihad” is ready to participate in the Palestinian National Council elections “on the condition that these elections are separated from the Legislative Council elections.” Regarding the elections of the latter, he clearly said: “A legislative council recognizes the enemy, and according to the Oslo Accords, we will not be part of it or participate in it.” The bottom line here is that the “Jihad” affirms its adherence to its firm stance of a total break with “Oslo” and all its secretions. However, faced with this and that, the movement insists on “formulating a national program commensurate with the magnitude of the sacrifices and struggles of our people.” The question now is: How will the other powers act in relation to what Al-Nakhalah stated quite clearly? Will you continue your meetings without issuing an invitation to “Islamic Jihad”? Or will it cancel these meetings and consider that something is necessary, since the agreement between “Fatah” and “Hamas” broke through? Some may see that the Secretary General’s speech to the “Jihad” does not respond to developments in the internal, regional and international situations and developments, but isn’t this the constant accusation since the beginning of the movement? Don’t such accusations ring out on many key broadcasters, as days have shown that adherence to the option of resistance and its weapons is the only approach that produced a real victory that hampered the Zionist project and posed an existential threat to it? Wasn’t it clear from the start that Ziad al-Nakhalah did not belong to the stereotypical discourse that dominates the Palestinian arena, and that he has his own unique style that will confuse many calculations and tactics for a clear strategic interest, namely adherence to the resistance until complete liberation, whatever the challenges and circumstances, without equivocation or sharing?
