Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced in early October that a framework agreement had been reached that paves the way for the Lebanese negotiator to demarcate the land and sea borders between Lebanon and Israel.
Berri confirmed that the negotiations would take place under the auspices of the United Nations, indicating that the Lebanese army would lead the negotiations.
Berri said the meetings will be held at a United Nations base near the border in southern Lebanon, and representatives of the United States and the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon will participate in the meetings.
