Army helicopters put out fires in Al-Matn Al-A’la villages – Safir Al-Shamal

Army helicopters specialized in extinguishing fires have continued to operate since early Saturday, with continuous departures to extinguish the fires that broke out in various villages in the Al-Matn Al-Alya region.

Likewise, the civil defense teams, with the help of the population, continue to work to extinguish the fires that have destroyed vast areas of fruitful pines, which are considered one of the most important economic income for the inhabitants of the region.

Representative Alan Aoun tweeted on his Twitter account a video of an army helicopter using the water from the Qaismani Dam to extinguish the fire in the Supreme Mat.

He commented on the video saying: “While the fire consumes the forests of upper Matn in Baabda district, the helicopters of the Lebanese army intervene together with the men of civil defense and the people of the cities to put out the fires using the water from the dam Qaismani, which confirms the importance of having a large water reserve in Baabda mountain not only to irrigate its people and villages, but also to contribute to protecting its environment.
