Civil Defense volunteers on the Al-Qaytaa ship expressed their dissatisfaction with them and demanded to provide them with protection

The exposure of a person in the town of Safina al-Qayta’a to some members and volunteers of the Civil Defense during the performance of their duties by putting out the burning fires in the shame of the region continuously for the last 24 hours, the volunteers who expressed their resentment and rejection of what happened and left the site in protest against this method of dealing with those who engaged. Working for free to serve people, protect the environment and extinguish fires, requesting the relevant official authorities to ensure protection during the performance of their duties, especially since it is not the first time that such violations are completely unacceptable. And the opening of an investigation into what happened to avoid a repeat of this incident.

Many of the activities of the town of Safina al-Qaytaa and its people have expressed their dissatisfaction with what happened, affirming their respect for the civil defense personnel and volunteers and for the tasks they carry out on the ground.

It should be noted that the fire continues in the forested areas of the axis of the towns of Bazal, Safina al-Qayta’a and Uyun al-Samak.

The Mayor of Bazal Municipality, Sheikh Hatim Othman, was reportedly bruised and suffocated during his contribution to the townspeople in extinguishing the fires, was treated and transferred to a health center and his condition is stable.

Al-Jazeera correspondent Osama Oweid was also suffocated as a result of strong fumes while covering the fire, and was taken to a clinic where he was treated.

What stands out during the fire extinguishing process is the appearance of methods and innovations of auxiliary means to face the fire, since one of the owners of the gigantic cement pumping mechanisms took them to the place of the fire and concentrated it later of filling his large tank with water instead of cement and extending his long hose carried on a large crane and pumping water with force, which helped extinguish.
