The German club, Hertha Berlin, suspended its Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou with immediate effect, after it published a video showing its handshake with some of the players on its team and some of the club’s employees, in violation of the health guidelines related to social spacing to combat the Corona virus.
The German Football Association (DFLA) denounced the video, which Calo, 34, aired on his Facebook page, especially because he had implemented strict health measures in hopes of obtaining the green light from the country’s political authorities, to resume the national league.
“The images of Salomon Kalou in the dressing rooms of Hertha Berlin are totally unacceptable,” the association said in an official statement.
Callow, the former Chelsea player, apologized for what he had done and admitted that he was in a good position to learn about the steps taken, especially as he was contributing to health projects in his home country.
“I am sorry if my behavior gave the impression that I am not taking the Coronavirus seriously. I want to apologize, especially since I am concerned about the citizens of the African continent, because medical care is not as good as what we see in Germany,” he said. Kalou.
